A stunning 20th century design property in a top location of Dorsoduro close to the Grand Canal and Ca’ Rezzonico

Still in original family ownership, this amazing 800 mq property, a whole building over three floors with a porta sola stunning private entrance, extensive reception rooms and two terraces is a unique offering in Venice.

The house has several bedrooms and bathrooms, and can either continue as a private or apartment residence, or become a stunning gallery space or private event venue. The property is in its original design concept state and is a gem in one of the most desirable parts of Venice. It has a unique provenance.

The creator, Architect Luigi Vietti, was a major figure in Modernism in Italian architecture from the 1930's onwards, creating many important buildings all over enItaly and elsewhere, adhering to MIAR - the Movimento Italiano di Architettura Razionale. Here in Venice we have a perfect example of his work in its finest detail, a stunning example of a private home in the Venetian medium with groundbreaking space, and design features down to the smallest detail, a work of love for the owners of this truly wonderful property.

The adjoining historic house is under the same ownership and provides further extensive accommodation, as well as very large courtyard garden with private water gate making this a very large and highly impressive property either for residential use or for gallery/exhibition space/ private functions and events in an excellent location. 431 sq.m. What attracted us to this property

Modernism is rare in Venice - there are very few examples for us to treasure, but this is one of the best. I absolutely love it and wish it was mine!

Dorsoduro

This sestiere is regarded as the Mayfair of Venice: quiet yet brimming with things to see, from the Guggenheim Museum with its delightful, leafy gardens and exquisitely curated collection of modern art, to the Punta Della Dogana, a sensational collection of contemporary art in the old customs building, recently restored by Tadao Ando, to the Accademia Galleries. Snaking along the best part of the Grand Canal, you will find charming palazzi - some grand and opulent, others on a pleasingly human scale. Take a short stroll from the Accademia Bridge to the Zattere for a long canalside ‘passeggiata’ or to Campo Santa Margherita, where locals gather to catch up with friends to enjoy the night air.  Perfect for an evening spritz before dinner, or a nightcap before walking home.
